The Peralta section on the Reventazón River is a big-whitewater run in Costa Rica. The legendary Peralta played host to the world whitewater rafting championship in 1998. Unfortunately the Costa Rican power monopoly, ICE, decided the popularity contest in early 2000 by damming the river and diverting water around the top half of this kayaking run. Kayaking_Turrialba_Costa_Rica If you hope to run the Peralta section, you are going to need a big of luck. Your best change comes at the peak of the rainy season when heavy rain fill Angostura Lake to capacity and force the power company to make sporadic releases into the dry riverbed. The Peralta section on the Reventazón River is one of the most advanced and exciting whitewater trips in Costa Rica. There are many play spots and very continuous class IV and V rapids. Class IV paddlers will experience all these thrilling big whitewater rapids and the beautiful scenery. We provide lunch on the river and we stop for a river hike to a beautiful waterfall.

Our whitewater kayaking trip include: Transport from San José - Cartago - Turrialba. Breakfast is included only for those who are coming from San José. Lunch is provided on the river for everyone. Top of the line river gear, only experienced guides, and a private photographer ready to capture the awesome natural beauty and the amazing collection of memories for you to take home.

When we get back to our office in Turrialba, we play a slide show of your kayaking pictures. CD’s and DVD’s will be for sale at the office. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the river from our office in Turrialba, and half hour to return.
